Program Description

AutoDock is an AutoCAD application that links the design power of AutoCAD with the analysis power of many marine analysis software packages. If you need to get your marine model into 3D AutoCAD, AutoDock is for you. Import your marine model components quickly into an intelligent 3D AutoCAD model. Save hours by automatically generating layers, views, user coordinate systems (UCS) and blocks for the imported components. Automatically skin the wireframes with ruled surfaces. Once imported, use AutoCAD's built in tools for enhanced visualization, creation of presentation renderings, 3D layout, or detail design.

Easy-to-use dialog box interface that runs inside AutoCAD
import marine 2D structural sections,
import marine 3D wireframe geometry from various marine file formats,
control import units (meters/mm/feet/inches) and import reference systems (AP/FP/MS),
control naming of AutoCAD layers for individual wireframes according to component type (hull, salt water tank, etc.),
automatically create AutoCAD block entities for each wireframe consisting of a 3D wireframe of polylines,
automatically create AutoCAD layers based on the type of component,
automatically insert AutoCAD blocks into appropriate layer,
automatically create standard AutoCAD views (body, profile, plan, 3D),
automatically create AutoCAD user coordinate systems (UCS) at waterlines and hull stations,
optionally generate ruled surfaces across the wireframes, and
optionally generate waterlines on the hull wireframe.
